Ghostbusters - New Animated Series From Netflix

‘Ghostbusters’ Animated Series in the Works at Netflix, Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan to Produce

A new “Ghostbusters” animated series is in development at Netflix, Variety has learned exclusively. The series hails from Sony Pictures Animation, with Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan of Ghost Corps, Inc. onboard as executive producers. Reitman and Kenan recently co-wrote the live-action feature “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” with Reitman also directing.

Exact plot details on the new animated series are currently being kept under wraps. No writer is attached at the time of this publishing. Production will be handled by Netflix and Ghost Corps, Inc., which is based at Sony’s Columbia Pictures.

Maybe the guy that auditioned to voice Zeddemore but didn't get the part because he didn't sound enough like the character should get another chance.

Three years later and this is finally moving along.
I don't like modern animation, and based on the last couple of films and Dark Horse comic series I'm not feeling overly enthusiastic about this.

However, the showrunners have apparently been quite open about their dislike of the last two films, which gives me a little hope.
Some news about this on the Ghostbusters News YouTube channel.

Is there any chance of this getting a physical media release? I don't do subscription services, and I'm not taking out a Netflix sub just for this.
