Regarding new releases announced on the French UHD Conference

I think maybe there has been a misunderstanding regarding new releases announced on the French UHD Conference last Friday. In their article(s) the French website https://www.avcesar.com/ had a link to their 4K UHD release calendar where there are listed many rumored releases from earlier. These are not new from this week. I see that many new threads have been started with this release list as source. I think the following titles have not got any new release information.

• The Godfather
• Ben Hur
• Lawrence of Arabia
• Gravity
• Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

The same goes for Heat in the Wish List sub-forum.

I will repost (from the Gravity thread) what I could find about what was actually announced in the French UHD Conference.

And the 2019 novelties are ...
In addition to the broadcast of extracts of restored films already released in 4K UHD or called to be current in 2019, including Schindler's List (we can already tell you that it is very beautiful), La passante du sans-souci, Manon des Sources, Cliffhanger, Les tontons flingueurs, Le vieux fusil, a number of novelties have been unveiled (sales take off, it is recorded). This will allow us to complete at once our 4K UHD output schedules online ( here and there ).

We start with Universal, which has sold 5,500 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray copies of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom after only four weeks of sales. Besides BlackKklansman, First Man and Halloween to come earlier this year and already announced in our pages, the publisher reveals for March Backdraft, The Grinch, Mortal Engines ( the latest production by Peter Jackson), American Gangster, Schindler's List in April, Fast & Furious Complete 1 to 8 in June, Scarface (yes, you read that right!) in July. On the Paramount side, we learned the releases of the latest Star Trek trilogy and War of the Worlds (current 2019), Overlord (March or April), and Bumblebee in April.

That's good news, in short. The rest of the novelties 4K UHD (TF1 Studio, ESC, Warner, SPHE and others ...) coming soon.

Continuation of our report of the 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray outputs gleaned during the conference UHD Partners France, held last Friday in Paris. After the big ads Universal and Paramount (including Scarface ) and TF1 Video , here are those of Warner and SPHE.

A major French provider of 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray titles (more than 50 released to date), Warner announces the closing of the year the Jon Turteltaub action movie The Meg, available December 22nd. No more information unfortunately for the beginning of the year 2019, even if Bradley Cooper's A Star is Born with Lady Gaga is strongly anticipated for the month of February.

For his part, SPHE, another prolific actor of the 4K UHD format (about fifty titles released to this day as well), unveils its first 2019 titles with Venom (on February 18th, very likely, we talked about it a short time ago), Goosebumps 2, The Girl in the Spider's Web and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in March. Followed by Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in April, White Boy Rick and The Front Runner in May. Finally, Escape Room in June.

Also Heat (1995) is on that list still being a Warner Bros title. 20th FOX got the rights over a year now. Also false.

There's a made for DTV BACKDRAFT II being produced so a 4K of the original would make total sense.

The French website updated the list for FOX titles. No catalogs was mentioned. Just Predator, El Royale and Bohemian Rhapsody. Nothing special.
