Please God, tell me I'm not the only one who has seen this movie, because Warner released it in the dead of night with virtually no promotion whatsoever and I can't be the only one interested in talking about this thing! lol

It was very well shot and acted (plus the soundtrack was a blast and worked so well). But the film really suffered from trying too hard to straddle the line between being a respectful (but scary) depiction of a devastating, random cold-blooded massacre and a "fun" home invasion splatter flick filled with endless jump scares (some of which were actually pretty effective). Yeah, it just didn't work—something that becomes painfully obvious during a scene showing Sharon's realization that her baby is probably going to be killed. That being said, I don't know how I feel about this one. I enjoyed it, but it was also kinda gross. And it was also kinda bad. This, my friends, is apparently a mixed review.

Also, as the credits rolled after a shockingly meager hour and seven minutes + credits, I found myself wondering if Warner Bros. had just decided to cut out the entire final 20 minutes or so of this film, because it literally reached an exciting climax and then cuts to black a half-hour early. But I found no evidence that this could've been the case... yet.

^"all of whose names deserve to live on in ignominy for having anything to do with this vile piece of trash." Kermode really didn't like it.

I think it works as a styish, weird little slice of what could've happened the night of the Tate murders. So, I'd imagine Manson enthusiasts might find some appreciation of it for that reason (I know I did). But as a movie, it feels incomplete and immaturely skittish about what it wants to be.

I have a lot of opinions about this movie.

What a travesty. How can you fail at turning one of America's biggest crimes into a laughable, thrill-less mess.

Quentin can only do better.

I caught this on one of the premium channels the other night. The synopsis gave me no indication just what I was in for with this.

"A group of friends gather for a going away party but their celebration is cut short when they are assaulted by murderous intruders"

Only turned it on because Katie Cassidy was listed then first person I see on screen is Elizabeth Henstridge, name is nowhere on info for movie. Actor who plays like the first guy killed is listed in top billing though next to Cassidy.

I'm watching it thinking who might make it out alive following the horror movie formulas...only to have it end and me wondering what the **** I just watched.
Then credits started with the recap of the Manson murders.....had no freakin clue that's what I was watching.

Seeing a pregnant woman stabbed to death--Sharon Tate is pretty much the only thing that comes to mind.

I watched this movie twice on Cinemax last year. I really enjoyed it and my only gripe was that it was too short. The run-time was only 73 minutes long.

I did like the ending.

Worth mentioning, this got a Warner Archive burn-on-demand DVD-R release. No Blu-ray.

I also caught it on HBO a while ago. I found it quite effective, although sticking so close to the Manson murders and using the victim's real names is a but off-putting.

This movie has no right to exist.
