First things first: I did not like the killer reveals itself but the execution before we find out who they are was actually quite effective.

Also, I love Chad and all, and Mason Gooding is great but come on... how even?
I guess he is our new Dewey but I think one of them just had to go in this kind of film!

I was hoping we would see an iconic chase across the Brooklyn Bridge, or through Times Square or something. Make use of some of the city’s many landmarks. It still looks like it kind of takes place in NYC, but aside from an establishing shot or two probably filmed by a drone, there’s nothing else from the actual city featured. I realize it was completely shot in Canada but legitimately shooting for a week in NYC could have brought up the production value and authenticity of the film a lot.

I did like the inclusion of “Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan” playing on the TV in Jason’s apartment too.

Scream really be like “everyone is fair game this time, even legacy characters” and then don’t kill off a single legacy character or main character. Where are the stakes? Characters getting stabbed a dozen times and surviving? Come on. Only killing off the new characters gets boring fast.

And how about all these people getting stabbed in the stomach with huge hunting knives and then running around like they are A-OK?

I’ll also never understand why people lock themselves in a room for safety only to emerge minutes later to look around if the coast is clear.

Made the same comment to my friend as it was coming to the end last night about how many times people can apparently be stabbed and then 2 minutes later be absolutely fine.

The thing that didn't make sense to me is how the hell was it unknown to the FBI who Richie's family was.

Seeing the film tonight but heard a few spoilers, and funny that basically all the “rumors” and “leaks” were wrong (though not surprised, always take those with a grain of salt). I recall everyone saying the killers were Stu’s family, but not it is Ritchie’s (makes more sense since Sidney isn’t in this movie), and everyone was speculating that returning characters would die, but no sounds like they all survive and the film plays it very safe with that (after Scream 5 perhaps went too far killing Dewey, even after its returning character kill of Judy Hicks).

I understand Tara and Sam you want as new leads of the series (though if Jenna Ortega’s contract is up she might not want back after S7 and could be a great shock kill there), unless Neve Campbell returns you can’t kill off Gale, and it would be disappointing to essentially resurrect Kirby only to kill her off when you bring her back. But either Chad or Mindy dying would have made a lot of sense.

I want all the Scream 5 characters to die. Disappointed to learn that doesn't happen.

Saw it last night at a press screening and have a few things I need to nitpick about and others to just chat about.

1) That opening is going to take some time to get used to. It subverts what we usually get from a Scream opener but somehow I found it to be the weakest part of the entire film. It felt like it belonged IN the film as a storyline but not as the opening kill.

2) I found the killers believable with good motives. I mean, you killed my son and their brother, revenge sounds right.

3) Mindy or Chad needed to die. Chad probably should have since he got stabbed 752 times. Mindy can stay, I like her quirkiness.

4) Melissa Barrera absolute OWNED this movie and Sam as a character. Loved seeing her finally take control of herself and stop playing timid.

I wonder if they are building up to Sam becoming a villain in a future film. She keeps having these hallucinations of her father, Billy Loomis. Then she puts on her father's mask and acts as Ghostface while killing the bad guy.

I'm wonder if in the next film or the other afterward she winds up snapping. Then it becomes Sidney vs Sam.

And the way how she killed him and stabbed the bad guy's son before is just wonderful. If she ever becomes a villain, she might be the most violent GF of the entire franchise.

Went to the fan event showing with A List, probably my favorite part of the event was the Reno 911 sketch. Movie was a lot of fun, and great to see with an audience into it, cheering at a bunch of parts (Kirby introduced, Tara and Sam saving Gale, Ethan getting stabbed in the mouth, etc) whereas with the 5th film the only real audience reaction was a couple “oh nos” when Dewey died

People have survived worse stabbings in real life. Chad’s just filling Dewey’s role of getting stabbed 5000 times.

I like the film and for VII I think it's super obvious who the killer should be,it should be Sam & Tara's mother.Makes the most since tie back to Billy as the original killer and she could have know what Billy & Stu where doing the whole time.This always would play into the legacy and basically trying to get Sam over to the dark side.

Bty really like the "Core 4" and the legacy characters but for VII need to have some impact full deaths as they where lacking in this one.
