Default Night Beast is the GREATEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME!!!

Got a chance to spin up my package from VS last night, and the first thing I went to was a little Don Dohler in the form of Nightbeast (or Night Beast - I see it spelled both ways). Where have you been all my life? That movie was ****ing amazing!

Seriously, just check out the trailer. How can you deny the proof before your very eyes!

Yeah it's super low budget, yeah the acting is terrible, the effects are terrible, the everything is terrible - but you have to admire a movie that just absolutely goes for it. Unashamedly just goes mental. And it's so entertaining!

Thank you Vinegar Syndrome for bringing this into my life!

Definitely one of my favorites from my VHS rental days as a kid. I have the Troma DVD, but excited to see the new blu version. If my order ever ships...

I quite enjoyed it. The only thing that I would have done differently is to have had the actress playing Mary Jane provide the requisite T&A. VS did a great job as usual with the scan and encode. If they just liked 80’s sex comedies, they would be my favorite label ever.

Yeah, just came out this month. You should easily get one, well once the VS store goes back up.

Huh. I miss EVERYTHING VS releases, it seems. I guess the Code Red thread has trained me to never click on studio threads and thus I only hear about announcements if they have dedicated threads. Which is a long way of saying, THANKS FOR THE THREAD, I'm all over this!!! Now we need The Galaxy Invader.

Right there with you! Sadly, from what I understand, the co-owner John Lyons isn’t a fan of the 70s/80s sex comedy genre and has no interest in releasing them. It is a real shame that his personal disinterest appears to be what is holding them back.

Hopefully they will change their position on this and listen to the fans who frequently request them, along with erotic thrillers.

You've, clearly, never seen the masterpiece that is Don Dohler's "The Galaxy Invader".

Other than sleazy, schlocky horror, my absolute favorite genres are film noir and neo-noir (think Jon Dahl), 80’s sex comedies, and 80’s and 90’s erotic thrillers including the trashy dtv stuff with Joan Severance and Shannon Tweed, etc. Horror of all types and Film Noir seem to be getting a good shake while sex comedies are hit or miss with the dtv erotic thrillers faring the worst. I even watched a couple of Jim Belushi thrillers from the 90’s when he was still trying to be a romantic lead.

As to VS, while I applaud their efforts to restore and preserve, and while some of their hardcore stuff are good films that happen to be hardcore, if they redirected that energy elsewhere, I think they would sell more. But it is obviously their time and resources, so they are free to do as they wish. I will say they are the friendliest and most accessible label as far as communicating on the boards and especially customer service. I’ve had quite a few slips come in damaged and they have always been happy to help.
