Default American Gods: Season 2 - August 20th 2019

Amazon Pre-order

Quote:
Synopsis: We were forged in God's image, but the Gods are also made in ours — and in Season Two the battle moves inexorably toward crisis point as the destinies of gods and men collide. While Mr. World plots revenge for the attack against him in Season One, Shadow throws in his lot with Wednesday's attempt to convince the Old Gods of the case for full-out war, with Laura and Mad Sweeney in tow. A council at the House on the Rock explodes into chaos, sending deities both Old and New on quests across America that will converge on Cairo, Illinois: forcing Shadow to carve out a place as a believer in this strange new world of living gods — a dark world where change demands commitment, and faith requires terrible sacrifice.

Extras:
-The House on the Rock: Setting the Stage
-The Second Coming: Neil Gaiman on Season Two
-Gods and Ends: Random Musings from the Cast

I actually liked this season a lot and I hope to God that this isn't another cheap BD-R release that Lionsgate is just loving to do now.

lesson learned: never watch a second season, without seeing the one prior, I was totally lost and in the dark ... uh! and that ending: what...the ... hell ... ??? (p.s. I liked it)

The trailer that I just put on the first post shows the Blu-ray cover art and it says it's a Blu-ray & Digital combo. So it's not BD-R, thank god.

Why on earth would you start a serialized drama on season 2

I stopped on season one halfway through. I thought it was just trying to be weird for weirdness sake. I still have the digital files for season one on VUDU so I might give it a second chance before season two is released.

Season 2 was better, despite the dropped plotlines due to the behind the scenes drama. Was more cohesive and actually drove the plot forward. Season 1 was too aimless IMO.

Should've thought "hm, I'll see if season 1 is still on demand" or watch it on the app lol

I honestly thought this was a very good season, this part of the book was always a drag and I think they did a good job making it very entertaining and brought some great additions/developments to the story.

Though I'm concerned about the lack of extras on the news posting. I hope this isn't a bare bones release.

Updated post with proper cover art and extra details. Extra details came from here. Glad that there are some special features (even though it's not as much as the first season).

I'm gonna blame Lionsgate for that, their home media releasing has been so screwed up lately.

It's hard to get everyone excited about talking about season two when some people have been removed/replaced.
Oh I completely understand, but it is disappointing nonetheless. Here's hoping that season 3 goes more smoothly and we get more extensive extras on the Blu-ray for that season.

Glad Lionsgate made this set a wide pressed release instead of MOD like Power 4 & 5, The Spanish Princess, and Counterpart 2 (DVD-R only). Shame it's only 34 minutes of extras, but better than nothing. Video/audio is excellent.
