Default Zack Snyder's Justice League - SPOILER Discussion Thread

I figured i'd make this thread so we can much more freely discuss the beats in the movie sans spoiler tags.

I felt like the Martian Manhunter design was overly embellished but nothing that can't be fixed given he's a shapeshifter. The veins for one around the head just did not jive for me and the CGI wasn't exactly the best given the direct lighting but once an actual actor is cast, perhaps they could make it a much more practical look with makeup and stuff had the opportunity to continue been there. However this is something we'll have to accept as a limitation and enjoy that we even got this tease.

Darkseid having such a hold over Steppenwolf who was already shown as a major bad ass was awesome. Although i'm not 100% sure how Darkseid forgets Earth as holding the Anti-Life equation when he got his ass handed to him and almost being shown to have died. It's clearly a world Steppenwolf knew had "Old Gods" and so they knew of it to a large part.

To me, Martian Manhunter was completely unnecessary in the Martha/Lois scene. it felt shoehorned.

Yes, I've mentioned this in the other thread. It's the only part that I didn't completely understand.

Also, far less biased opinions. It’s like a cult in the main thread!

I can't decide if Bruce's congratulations to Clark is a reference to the engagement, or confirmation of Lois being preggers.

What also made me exclude the baby was the absence of a reaction from Clark, and he would immediately know if she was pregnant.

I thought the pregnancy test was more of a teaser than an actual serious point however, there's a serious set up they could use for the future idea that Zack may have had to have Lois die and potentially with her carrying his child, really making it an even more devastating loss and explaining his spiral to being under the control of Darkseid. If that ever happens, i suppose it would be on HBO Max and AT&T to make it a reality.

Personally i thought this version was how i would have wanted him to have been all along. He is trying his best but you can tell he's still somewhat knew but they don't make him as incompetent as the 2017 version or as stupid with his jokes. Thank GOD the damn BRUNCH line is gone!!

Oh, and the entirely stupid and moronic humans. Anybody else find it 1 million times better we now get a proper damn set up for the area Steppenwolf chose to set up in? It's toxic and uninhabited but the moment he made his dome, it took all that away making it safe for the team to enter relatively speaking to the huge Parademon force and guns they face. Unlike the Josstice League where humans still reside there and we get that stupid plot point of Superman having to save people. Instead it's all business here and we had the stupidity of Barry needing to bring Victor to the Mother Box removed.

I genuinely cannot emphasise enough how much better this damn thing flows even over 4hrs compared to the 2017 version. There's no manufactured conflicts here between the team. Everybody including Diana saw the logic of trying to bring Superman back with Aquaman bringing the primary objections only instead of the crap of Bruce and Diana at loggerheads too. It flowed so much better when they all get the body, then bring it to the ship and how they get in which perfectly places Silas to eventually pick the box up and then have Steppenwolf home in to STAR Labs to take it. With Silas making a calculated sacrifice where we quickly are shown he wasn't trying to destroy the Mother Box but make it easy for them to locate it and help save Earth and through that we see Victor finally reconcile his pain and allow him to forgive his father and embrace what he tried to do by the end of the movie, which i will be honest kinda irked me that Cyborg is shown to semi rewind/fix something he crushed with force. That was sloppy. I also wasn't massively sure about Clark walking around at the end without people wondering how he wasn't dead anymore. That's something that they could have sorted out better maybe.

Yeah. In the Injustice storyline Lois is Pregnant when Joker tricks Supes into killing her and He Flips and becomes the Evil Ruler of Earth.

I believe in the Sequel he was going to go full Injustice and Flash would have to eventually find a way to go back and do his thing.

Flash going into the speedforce and connecting with Cyborg is like...just...the way it's visualized...the music...Jesus...

Yes, I've mentioned this in the other thread. It's the only part that I didn't completely understand.
I would have Cut Martian Manhunter completely and ended with the Knightmare scene

Yeah, the Martian Manhunter and Lois scene was very clunky imo at the end. The rest of it was actually quite good and Martha trying to console Lois through their shared grief. Finding it is MM undercuts it imo.

Loved the film...but can someone please explain what the epilogue is all about? I don't read the comics so I don't understand why :
- it seems Aquaman, WW, and the others seem to be non-existent or dead
- I assume they live in a parallel universe? But what brought that out?
- that Lex Luthor hitman with silver hair now seems to be an ally

It seems to be a potential future in which Darkseid has conquered and Superman is in service to him.

In BvS, Flash reached out to Bruce from the future to warn him, and telling him to bring them (the League) together, and referenced Lois being the key.

In Snyder's JL, Bruce referenced that encounter with Flash and he seemed to fear they were still headed on a dark course.

The epilogue seems to indicate that they're still on the path to that future.

It also ruined a really sweet and emotional Martha and Lois moment.

When Darkside conquers the world and Supes turns heel Villians and Heroes are now allies fighting for their lives in the Apocalyptical world.

[Show spoiler]There is a scene where Cyborg has a premonition when he is about to resurrect the 3rd mother box: Darkseid invades Earth. Wonder Woman and Aquaman are dead. Superman is evil. This is a possible future. Maybe that's why they are not present in the Knigthtmare scene.
