A+. My favorite film of the 21st Century. Day one for me, assuming they'll go back to the original camera negative and not just do an up-rez from the theatrical 2K DI. Tricky era of filmmaking: originating on film but with all color-grading finished to 2K. Fingers crossed.

EDIT: stats were just added as I was typing. New 4K supervised by Deakins... I'M IN!!!!!

2nd EDIT: I've since been corrected... apparently this was a rare 4K DI back in 2007. I don't want to be spreading misinformation.

I'm so pumped — been holding out on this getting a 4K upgrade for a long while. Quite a lucky release! I'll have to consider whether or not to put it on my movie shelf, where it'll get mixed in with the other movies and become just another 4K disc. Which it is.

Yes since Paramount bought Miramax, I hope they also either release There Will Be Blood themselves or lend it to Criterion for a 4k release too.

The phrase "new 4K digital master" doesn't necessarily mean they're rebuilding it from the negatives with a native 4K DI. A 2K DI uprezzed to 4K still results in a "new 4K digital master." That said, I hope it's a rebuild.
