Default The Room (Be careful....what you wish for)

Source:BloodyDisgusting

Quote:

“Kate (Olga Kurylenko), and Matt (Kevin Janssens) are a young couple in their thirties in search of a more authentic and healthy life. They leave the City to move into an old house in the middle of nowhere. Soon they discover a secret hidden room that has the extraordinary power to materialize anything they wish for. Their new life becomes a true fairytale. They spend days and nights indulging their every desire of material possession, swimming in money and champagne. Yet beneath this apparent state of bliss, something darker lurks: some wishes can have dire consequences. That Room could very well turn their dream into a nightmare when it gives them what they’ve been waiting forever and that nature was denying them…”

Existing awful movie titled "The Room" aside, it's just such a completely generic title. You might as well call it "untitled horror movie"

Movie titles have gotten VERY generic over the past few years. "Safe House" (actual tagline: NO ONE IS SAFE.) is a perfect example. Let's not forget "Man on a Ledge". (Isn't that the one where there's a man, and he's on a ledge?)

But titles are often reused in movies, though it gets confusing which one is being talked about without specifics attached.

They could've called this "The Room: Nightmare" or anything to separate it a little better.

I think that would have made people think it's a sequel or something. At least just calling it The Room people will assume it's just another movie with the same title

Dangerous Men is the most incredible and astounding bad movie ever made and I love it to near-death.

I agree Birdemic is worse than The Room. Miami Connection is a comparatively competent and amusing film and ranks higher than Samurai Cop.

This is my official opinion.

I don't know anything about this Kurylenko film but I wish it all the best but also I doubt it's any good but in a boring way.

I love how devolved this thread has gotten. But in all honesty, The Room, Silent Night Deadly Night Part 2, and Miami Connection are works of art in the field of trash cinema. So bad, yet so incredibly enjoyable for what they are. I saw Birdemic mentioned, guess I need to check that one out.

In a technical sense? The Room. To Tommy's credit he threw enough money at The Room to make it look like a real movie... in parts. Birdemic looks like it was shot on cheap DSLRs that James Nguyen didn't even know how to use properly, and it was seemingly edited on a shoe.
In a story sense? Still, The Room. As repetitive as it is The Room is paced... fine? And it has a decently defined beginning, middle and end. In Birdemic we're treated to several minutes of silent driving and gas pumping, it takes half the friggin movie to get to the birds and it just unceremoniously ends when it feels like it.
They're both incredible works of ambition outweighing the filmmaker's talent, but The Room is just an all around better sit.

Not to sound like a crying broken record, but I am disappointed at how little attention is paid to Dangerous Men. But I'm someone who's never seen Silent Night Deadly Night Part 2, so I'll do my best to check that soon.
