It is very strange but the amaray is a 12 (cut) but the STEELBOOK is a 15 (uncut).

The BBFC have passed Maze Runner in two versions for video, cut and uncut. Looks like Fox have decided to put the uncut version on steelbook only.

The BBFC have passed the cut version as 12, 108 minute version, that will be the PAL version for DVD (25fps speed up) and the 113 minute uncut version at 15, that will be for blu-ray.

If the standard blu-ray is labelled as 12, that might be a labelling mistake.

That's was I was thinking, a printing mistake.

So either blu ray is uncut, it's just the dvd that's cut?

I wish studios would make this stuff clear on the packaging at the very least. Its insane to have the dvd be a tamer cut of the movie without it at least being stated on the packaging. A different rating is not enough, its not fair on consumers.

I totally agree but tbh the average buyer, the 'man on the street' if you will, doesn't really realise/care.

How utterly ridiculous, and very annoying as I've already opened my amaray not thinking they'd bother doing two different Blu-Rays. Usually the steelbook is the same disc.

I'm not going to pay £5 more just for 40 seconds or so as the distributor for some reason feels only the HMV exclusive steelbook is worth having the edited out parts put back in.

I like buying steelbooks for certain films, but shouldn't be getting forced to buy it for the full movie.

If any ones is interested in a good offer, Sainsbury's is giving away a free copy of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief on blu-ray when bought with The Maze Runner.

Just thought people might like to know!

If it is a printing mistake, Fox will have to withdraw it from sale and reprint.

This IS Fox we're talking about. The company that can't be bothered making blurays for TV shows anymore.

So, I've shot an enquiry over to Fox to find out what the deal is. Whether they will answer is another question.

Hopefully it's just a misprint with the rating on the amaray. Do you have a way of checking? Does it detail the changes anywhere at all and maybe you could check on your disc?

If it's not a mistake then it's absolutely unacceptable that they haven't made this clear to buyers.

You're right but I think it's still absolutely ridiculous. We wouldn't accept different versions of 'the same thing' in other purchases we make without it being advertised. As always it's movie consumers who get the shaft. I mean i'm not losing out personally as I have the 15 rated cut but it annoys me for those who are not aware.
