It is nice to see a 200 disc BLU-RAY changer with media server. But for $3,500 it only plays BLU-RAY discs at 1080P/60 and does not support 1080P/24 at all. It also is only a profile 1.0 player and it does not bit stream the advanced audio formats like DTS HD Master audio.

** The Sony HES-V1000 should be included in the player section of this forum. It is the only 200 disc BLU-RAY changer on the market. **

It still needs some tweaking and updating. I can't imagine Sony leaving this gem out in the cold for long. It has to much potential to be ignored. I know myself and when these updates come along i will be looking to purchase. Would make one hell of a nice X-mas present....

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=41206

sony is working on the new version as we speak, they came to my house and 4 other owners of the v-1000 , to get there input and see how it was being used in the home. And they asked what features we would like to see on new model.

Did they give you any feedback as to the changes they would be making and are they going to update your equipment?

Mine can recieve software updates, but the new models will have more hardware features, that cannot be changed on mine. I hope they give me a big discount on new model when it comes out.

Thanks for this. It is really impressive that Sony has sought customer perspective data hopefully to improve their products. Although, we do not know most likely this may be the norm for Sony and they do this type of research on a regular basis (through the forums like this one) and also face-to-face contact (most likely in Japan).

Hi,

are there any lucky owners of this old but beautiful server?

Does anybody still have the original CD containing the Music Transfer software from Sony for the HES-V1000. Mine came without the CD and I've not found this software on the internet, neither could Sony support help me. The software is required to copy music from the computer to the HES-V1000.

- Is there any way to change the BluRay or DVD region code? It's a few years old and maybe there's a solution for this... or did all your servers went into the trash bin?? Hopefully not, it's such a beauty!
