Great! Although it would have been cool to see the DC in HDR...although I have yet to see either.

This is awesome! However this film has several moments where english subs are shown (

). Question is if these scenes will have burned in Italian subs or if we will even have an option of english subs.

And the DC adds a whole new scene with English subtitles too.

Not yet. The director's cut is getting a plain Blu release in at least one other country (France) but, so far, I believe only the Italians are getting the theatrical cut in 4K.

Also Itunes will get Midsommar in 4K and dolby vision. My guess is theatrical only in 4k and dc as 1080p extras. Hope this Italian disc have subs for needed parts. Or if it's just "swedish" in those parts I'm fine

It will only have Italian subtitles.

I'm really looking forward to this release. I'll hold off till it's out just in case the release isn't English friendly, but I'll probably end up ordering it anyways. One of my favorite films of the last few years.

I'm confident the US will get a 4K or DC release. The dream would be 4K + DC in one single release but that's too much to ask.

Whatever the case is, it'll be better than the current release available. I will wait.

According to the Amazon Italy product page for the 4K version, the 4K theatrical cut will have Italian and English audio and Italian subtitles, and the included director's cut on blu-ray will be English audio and Italian subtitles. It's the section of the product page where the three versions are compared. If that's true, and I don't see why it wouldn't be, then the Italian 4K release with the additional director's cut blu-ray is the way to go for me. I can't see any reason to wait when this set already has everything I want.

My understanding is those parts are not that significant and no English subs wouldn't detract from enjoying the film. Won't know for sure though until I watch it. Of course I'd rather have English subs for those parts... It's curious to me that there is nothing more definite in regards to other 4K releases yet. For now I'm waiting to see what happens but that Italian 4K set is not too far off and I think I'm going to grab it.
