![]() ![]() Dangerous Liaisons Blu-ray Anybody seeing the new Asian Dangerous Liaisons, with Zhang Ziyi and Cecilia Cheung? I found a few theatrical release dates May 24, 2012 (Cannes - Directors' Fortnight) September 27, 2012 (China) October 11, 2012 November 9th, 2012 (USA) so maybe there will be an ALL REGION Blu-ray I can import pretty soon (instead of waiting for the USA Blu-ray four months from now) I want to see this badly, but it's closest theatrical play is 50 miles away. == Last edited by Deciazulado; 12-15-2012 at 11:40 AM. |

Read about this movie some months ago, just check my theater listing and nothing. No surprise I did not expect anyone to show this in Montreal. Here people only want to see (the masses) mindless 3D blockbusters or the local movies made by French Canadians.
I will get the Blu-ray later on, have a few that I want to import from Asia anyway |

I figure the China Blu-ray may be region free and should be available around January 2013... meanwhile, the USA Bluray probably wont be available until March 2013. |

This was screened at TIFF in September, with the stars appearing for the premier. I couldn't see it then. I had thought about seeing it this weekend, but the lukewarm reviews have discouraged me. Probably end up waiting for the disc to rent at home.

Saw this recently and was a bit disappointed. Surprisingly, I found Cecilia Cheung (whom I normally dislike) most enjoyable in her role. Jang Dong Gun is just a little too. . .nice. . .as the schemer. This is the fourth filmed version of the novel I've seen and I still like Stephen Frears' version the best.

Yes, I'm becoming quite fond of Zhang Yimou's films. I've also seen Ju Dou (shot in Technicolor) and Raise the Red Lantern, both casting Gong Li and they are excellent, although very depressing.
