I'm resurrecting this thread because Vudu has an amazing sale of $29.99 for the Complete Series. Oh man, I'm about to bite the bullet on this one!
I have the series (except LAD) on DVD, but for some reason, a couple of DVDs went bad. I guess they are poorly manufactured. Odd because that hasn't happen on my other DVDs in my collection. |

I went ahead and made the purchase. $29.99 to replace my bad DVDs and to get an HD upgrade is such a steal!
It's been so long since I last watched this show, so rewatching these will be like seeing them for the first time again. I'll put my Hulu subscription on hold for a while since it will take some time to binge watch these. So, the money I'm saving by putting my Hulu on hold will help defray the cost of the $30 I just spent. ![]() |

Show got stale by season 5. I had a blast with it, still exciting, but its rigid structure, a huge asset back when it started and into season 4, just became a bit too predictable. Itzin was a great addition. Where can I get all seasons on bluray?

First season, even though Bauer's daughter dragged everything down every time she was involved in the plot.
It got ridiculous how the 24hr format was just copied in all the following seasons, well the ones I watched. It killed the suspension of disbelief for me. |

Season 5 was very good, IMHO. Season 6 is where is started going downhill. But still, the show is fantastic overall. I've never watched a show like this where I'm so hooked and my adrenaline is pumping.

Day 1 is a television masterpiece. Day 2 comes close, but no cigar. Day 3 is really good for the personal demons it emphasizes on Jack and Day 4, while getting a bit formulaic, was still good, and the finale to that with Jack heading out on his own after faking his death would have been quite fitting. Day 5 starts out with a kick in the nuts and the finale to that was one of the biggest cliffhangers I've ever experienced. I enjoyed everything after, especially Redemption and Live Another Day but those first 5 have great, yet different aspects to them that make them appreciable. I have the UK Blu of Legacy but have not watched it yet.

Jean Smart did an incredible job as the first lady. She's even hilarious on Frasier and received 2 Emmy's. An extremely talented actress.

First season is the only season with genuine surprises, because then they start to repeat themselves to the point of parody (desk guy who is obviously a mole is revealed to be a mole, fellow agent who was never intended to be a mole is suddenly a mole). Even the Emmy-winning fifth season had its share of stupid, namely Lynn McGill. They also inexplicably made Edgar a regular character. Points for killing him off early, however.
