Default Animal House, Smokey and the Bandit, and The Sting (and more) coming from Universal?

This would be one of the goofiest ways to find out about this, but I was messing around on Universal's online retail site Gruv.com after getting an email from their rewards site. I filtered their inventory by 4K UHD and then I sorted it "Price: High to Low."

There are currently 7 listings on Gruv for Universal 4Ks that either don't currently exist or are tied up in box sets, priced at $999.99 and marked as out of stock. Inglorious Basterds is already a pretty sure thing for 2021, but the others include:

I have linked to the listings above.

The Sting is Day 1. Wish there was a chance for Butch and Sundance too.

... please don't tease me with these titles, PLEASE don't tease me with these titles...

But seriously, it would be surprising to me if these didn't get releases to UHD in the near future. These are "catalog majors" -- all of which I expect will get to 4K in due time.

You know what Geoff does to people who spread false information about Animal House in 4K?

Man, The Sting would be amazing! It would be a redemption story for Universal, seeing how bad the BD was (and the HD-DVD being better, but still far from ideal). I just hope they add in the original mono mix and not some DTS:X crap for a single channel film.

I had thought the Sting seemed like a likely Kino UHD so i’m glad that Universal is putting it out themselves as in addition to being in itself great it frees up a slot!

As long as we're making wish lists for early Universal BDs on spiffed-up UHDs, can we have The 40 Year Old Virgin, please?

I don’t know who decides to edge enhance a film that was in cinemas two years beforehand to death

Seems like natural next choices for Universal though I wonder what happens to The Thing
