So apparently a teaser for a JJ Abrams film called 10 Cloverfield Lane is connected to Michael Bay's new film, 13 Hours.

Yup, I posted in the 13 Hours thread, but I got this trailer. And nice to have confirmation that it is a "blood relative" set in the same universe as Cloverfield (if not a direct sequel)

Very cool teaser trailer. Great cast. Nice to see John Gallagher, Jr. in another movie. Loved him in Short Term 12. And the guy who wrote Whiplash co-wrote it. I have a very good feeling about this movie.

My best friend's favorite movie is Cloverfield and he had given up all hope that we were ever going to get a sequel. He's going to freak when he hears this news.

My best friend just woke me up out of my sleep by calling me eight times to tell me the news as I dragged her to see Cloverfield 5 times when it came out. Her boyfriend dragged her to see 13 Hours and she said when she saw the name pop up she jumped and started telling him she needed to call me and here we are.

I AM SHAKING. JJ YOU STEELY EYED BASTARD.

Hmm. Judging from the teaser, plot outline, and how this came out of nowhere 2 months before release, I get the sense that this was intended as an original film then someone realized this could fit into the Cloverfield universe and would be a good marketing ploy. So they're calling it a "spinoff".

No involvement from Matt Reeves or Drew Goddard?

Regardless, it still looks great with an intriguing teaser and cool cast. Although I think they should've used the Tiffany version of "I think we're alone now".

Looks very interesting but I don't think its going to exactly be Cloverfield 2. I read that its actually a movie called Valencia just renamed.
