Default Richard Wagner: Der Ring des Nibelungen - Herbert von Karajan Blu-ray Audio



You may remember that Universal Music released the legendary Decca Solti Ring Cycle on Blu-ray Audio a few years ago, and this June, it seems they will now release the Deutsche Grammophon 1966-1970 Ring Cycle from the Berlin Philharmonic, conducted by Herbert von Karajan. Originally released as 19 LPs and 14 CDs, it will now be remastered and presented at 96kHz/24-bit on one Blu-ray Disc, complete with a 400-page book.

Right now, the only retailer with any info is Tower Records in Japan, but it seems that the book will contain the libretti with English translation, an essay, and photographs. I expect it will look a lot like the re-release of the Solti version.

Amazon pre-orders are not live yet, but CDON has added a pre-order for the Nordic countries:
