Disk Kino annouced the details for their upcoming release of Huang Jianxin's classic film Back to Back, Face to Face.

So, if this is all on one disc, I assume that the TV version must be in SD, correct? And does it have English subtitles?

SD only, this version was so rarely seen that almost no one knew there's an extended cut of this film exists. Unfortunately it won't be subtitled in English, but if you're interested in the film itself, I still recommend you to take a look. Aside from some new added parts, the same scenes in the extended part have completely different editing or even different takes used.

Disk Kino did additional color correction and sound synchronization to the restoration (which has some problems) Xi'an Film Studio provided, so this should be the best this film ever looked so far.

Finally got the MP invoice...$84! $20 "retailer shipping costs" my ass, I feel like they shipped it surface mail to USA since it's been out for two months before finally receiving the invoice and are marking it up immensely. Time to start getting these for a more reasonable price from Buyoyo with their limited stock at this rate...

Then they charge $9 shipping, only to ship it Media Mail, which costs $3-4 max.

e: invoice also called it "back to back, front to front"

Buyoyo is definitely the way to go with these releases.

I received my set about 2 weeks ago and with shipping my total came to around $62 USD.

My packages from Buyoyo have always been fine. Packed similarly to that of DDDHouse, wrapped in bubble wrap. Granted, thinner stuff, not this sort of fancy product.

Is buying from Buyoyo simple? It looks pretty straightforward, especially since it's English-friendly. Gotta keep the site in mind for other premium releases.

MP apparently does not like being called out...!....they refunded my invoice payment on this title with the reason "Dont want to service you."

edit: looks like they banned me from their group buys as well. There's the motivation I needed to switch to Buyoyo. Anyone happen to have a spare copy of this title? Or I'll just buy direct from China.

Yes. Site can be a little slow, but it works. Sometimes they are also very slow at uploading the tracking number to the site, but it hasn't been an issues these last few months for me.

The movie was packaged exactly like the other WCL and MLIFE releases from MP; same big box with branding on the outside and Styrofoam securing it inside.
