Top Gun 4K UHD digital code only redeeming as HD on Vudu? - Blu-ray Forum

I received my preorder of Days of Thunder and Top Gun both in 4K UHD on Saturday and redeemed the digital codes right away. Days of Thunder redeemed in UHD but Top Gun did not. I redeemed both codes through Paramount’s digital redemption site. When I picked Vudu as the service provider on Top Gun (same as I did on Days of Thunder), it gave me “you already own a digital copy of this movie“ notice. I tried redeeming the code through Vudu and it gave me an error message. I tried Paramount again and it showed it had been redeemed on Vudu now. Still, no UHD digital on Vudu. I sent Paramount and Vudu emails to their support teams about this. Vudu has been the only one so far to respond and they are saying “it looks like this studio offer redeems for a HD digital copy according to terms and conditions.” Yet Days of Thunder redeems in UHD?

Anyone else have an issue like this? I know on some of the first 4K UHD releases they included only HD Digital codes.

Didn't order the 4Ks of Top Gun and WotW, but my Days of Thunder code redeemed just fine in UHD on iTunes/Apple TV.

I think it’s an issue on Vudu’s side.

There are issues with the Top Gun 4K release. Some of the releases had hd codes placed in them. You will need to contact Paramount CS, with the necessary proof like disc, slip, case with upc barcode and probably receipt, to have them send a replacement 4K code.

It’s been reported that the “4k” codes for Top Gun are in fact HD when redeeming through Vudu. You would need to contact Paramount for a resolution.

Hopefully this will be fixed this week, so hold your codes until it's fixed.

I did contact Paramount Saturday about it and they responded tonight asking for pics of the packaging, code slip and receipt. Thank you for the info and I hope Paramount resolves this issue for all of the codes out there, somehow.

Is the issue that some Top Gun UHD codes are redeeming correctly as 4K, and some of the 4K codes are HD only - luck of the draw... or is the issue that NONE of the UHD codes redeem in 4K? Has anyone confirmed UHD with a Top Gun code?

Appears to be all codes. The codes do redeem UHD on iTunes, however. I'm also not sure if the new Paramount codes are single redeem or still dual (directly in Vudu or FN and again directly in iTunes) .

Paramount just sent me a new digital code and it DID redeem in UHD to Vudu.

I just recently picked up Gemini Man, and it did. I think they started this with the May releases.

Seeing this thread I didn't bother to redeem before reaching out. They sent me a new code which worked for UHD in Vudu. Checking the original code, they marked it as redeemed possibly to stop people from getting it in both services.

This has been fixed now. Verified on 4ksheet.com and just redeemed my copy from that link. UHD copy was added to my library.
