I wish I had this software to use with my Mac, but with a price tag of up to $35,000 for this system... i will just have to rely on Apple's DVD Studio Pro a little longer.

I think you will find it costs a whole lot more than $35K when you add all the modules and Cinevision.

Keep an eye on Netblender DoStudio MX for a Blu-ray version in coming weeks. This costs only $249 per month subscription and you can use it at will. I think it will have BD-J authroing is some capacity.

I was considering Blu-print, but Netblender sounds pretty good if it will create useable CMF files.

I'm working at a place that the A**hole Editor locks his cabinet which has all the manuals inculding Sonic Scenarist Blu Ray 4.0 . I don't do much at night and would love to read the manuals . I Checked ebay , Pirate sites No luck
Anyone have an idea where I could get hold of one ?
I won't ask the editor to leave the keys to his cabinet because he'll just be more of a A**hole and remove the Scenarist dongle.
ANd the software is pretty much impossible to learn without one .

Any Ideas ???

Thanks

Robert,

There isn't a manual available, well at least that's useful. The closest thing available are a bunch of "Hello World" examples that aren't practical for release titles.

even if you could get at it, I've read the manual for previous versions and you need a translator, because it's written entirely in engineerese. You need to learn to think like the developer before any of it makes sense

Robert,

Take a look at the PDF's that are on the system itself.

C:\Program Files\Sonic\Scenarist HDMV\Documentation
C:\Program Files\Sonic\Scenarist BD-J\Documentation

Also, if you have a Sonic Care account, you can login online and download updated BD-J tutorials.

If you have access to a blu-ray authoring system, could you please check how hard or easy it is to enable subtitle repositioning function in s/w when authoring a blu-ray disk. This is in blu-ray specs but I think it is optional.

Thanks.

I've done this before with text-based subtitles. They would move within a predetermined area. This was without the use of BD-J. With BD-J, I have yet to try but I believe there are more robust options.

Thanks. If subtitle repositioning can be achieved easily, I cannot understand why blu-ray authors do not enable this feature in sw. This is very important for non-English-speaking people and also to watch foreign movies if you wish to move subtitles to clear black bars.
