I tried to place an order, but checkout gave me an error that it couldn't be shipped to the US. Zavvi customer service just responded that US customs rules have changed, so they cannot deliver this item. Anyone else run into this or know what happened? I hope this doesn't mean my steelbook supply just got cut off.

Not sure why you got an error or why they are telling you that. I was just able to place an order and I'm in the US.

It never even got a US DVD release so it has not been easy to actually watch here.

I don't have a region free player so I'm going to pass on it. I loved it as a kid, but then hated it when I saw it again on TV some years later.

I saw this a few times on tv, once sitting with my young daughter and I recall she didn't quite get the reference to the bootleg days of the "roaring twenties" so had a fun time explaining that to her...heh, including how Canada did not go the route of prohibition and so became a smugglers dream.
She then saw the film in a new light and we both quite enjoyed it.
For nostalgia, I'll grab it, as I fondly recall the simplistic, non murderous portrayal it provided.
Lot's worse fliks out there right now...

Has anyone had any issues with the delivery of this? It was supposed to be released yesterday, but Zavvi are saying that they're "awaiting stock" and my order hasn't even dispatched yet. I'm used to Zavvi's penchant for incompetency when it comes to pre-orders, but I wondered if anyone else was having the same experience.

Yeah I ditched Zavvi as they couldn’t deliver this or Eagle has landed. Switched to Amazon. Baring in mind Zavvi now use thin packaging that damages steelbooks, I prefer amazons customer service.

awesome steelbook. Love the film. Ifi didnt already have the Blu-ray i buy this one. I wish Criterion, Arrow or Shoutfactory wouldpick this title up in the states, a classic!

Does anyone else get a little picture glitch at around 34sec? It’s right at the bottom just outside the main picture on the border.
