I assume that it's the player and/or the TV. I have LG Blu-ray players (useless garbage rejects half my Blus!!!) and I see block-like artefacts appear when there is a lot of movement on screen. When watching the footage back in freeze-frame, the artefacts aren't there, which indicates that either the player or the TV can't quite keep up and that it isn't a problem with the encoding.
I'm not sure what the problem could be on your end, but I thought I would share my experience with you. When watching Blus on my laptop, I have never experienced an issue. |

By far and away the absolute worst Blu-ray player I've ever had, and I've had a few (pannys, sonys, ps3s Oppos). People go gaga for it's region free ability, but it can't even provide a decent picture. You're better off buying a cheap sony or panny.

It's the only region-free player available in stores, though. Unless there's others that I'm unaware of. I think *Kogan* does region free, but that's it in Australia.

https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/rad-srt...rder-10305910/ I have been considering getting a better model Blu-Ray player for local/region-free discs, and keeping my Laser player for the region-locked titles. If I find good reviews of this Strong PVR, I might get that as backup multi-region player. EDIT: Just looked up a bunch of reviews, and it's a hard nope. |

Can anyone recommend a region-free player that isn't Laser?

Looks like Teac does region free players, though my very first DVD player (bought in 2000!) was a Teac, and had loads of problems. Maybe they've learned a thing or two in twenty years?

I have one and the picture quality is excellent. I guess I'm one of the lucky consumers who got more than what he paid for. It sure beats having to take out a loan to buy a modded unit from Gattiweb, which adds an extra 150 percent to the price to cover the cost of free postage.
