This is hard. Exactly like the Mad Max franchise, we had 3 perfect installments which are vastly different from each other. The remake was very good, but not comparable to the original 3 at all.
My rank: 1- Evil Dead 2 2- The Evil Dead - the most frightening horror movie ever filmed 3- Army of Darkness - groundbreaking horror fantasy 4- Evil Dead - great remake About the convoluted Evil Dead timeline, that's my spin: Since the TV series changed the game forever, I conceived, elaborated and wrote a "definitive" Evil Dead timeline rolling the 3 movies and the TV series into one single, cohesive "continuity". No more discrepancies or incongruences, I swear. Have a good read: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=297175 GROOVY! |
