Confirmed, Although its coming from Warner Brothers - not a bad price $6.00 dollars on Amazon...At least now I don't have to spend $60 dollars to get the Anchor Bay Version!!

Correction: DVD Empire may be wrong about which Fade to Black is being rereleased.

Jay-Z - Fade to Black (2004)

It actually would make a lot more sense if Paramount were rereleasing this than if they suddenly and randomly got the rights to Fade to Black (1980).

No doubt another title from the WB/Paramount deal.

Will this film ever get a release?! Surprised Scream Factory or Synapse hasn't tried to get the their hands on it. Unless it doesn't have a big enough cult following.

Well, it was a Compass Pictures release, and Scream Factory released Hell Night (another Compass title) last year—I wonder if they potentially have access to it? I was kind of surprised that Anchor Bay never put out a cheap-o Blu-ray in the early 2010s, though it seems they tended only to do that with their 20th Century Fox-licensed titles (such as The Entity). Fade to Black is great, though it's one of those movies that is beloved by a very small group of people; most people have never even heard of it, let alone seen it. I've clung on to the Anchor Bay DVD for years now. I should give it a viewing here soon—it's been a long time since I've sat down and watched it.

I think you're correct in saying it's beloved by a very small group of people and there in lies the problem. It's unfortunate. Scream Factory releasing it is not totally out of the question. Though I wouldn't expect a collectors edition. Like you said, it's not a well known film. None of my friends had ever heard of it. Although far from perfect, it's a movie I think of fondly.
