I just want to provide an alert on a surprise little find-- the existence of an English-friendly 3-D release of Space Chimps 2.

Current known editions are a UK release (3-D is anaglyph only) and French release (two discs with the 2D version having forced French subtitles on the English audio track and the 3D version playing a French audio track only).

I took a chance with an ebay seller listing a French version that seemed to combine the 2D/3D on one disc with English and French language tracks. It arrived and it's accurate (and region free!), except I was wrong about it being a French release. It was released by Belga Films (Belgium).

Wow, that's the most insanely inflated price I've seen in a long time. Not only would I never pay that for this movie, I would like to punch the seller in the face for being so greedy.

Well, I'll probably trade one of my copies of Space Chimps 2 (3-D Belgium). I always buy two when there are limited numbers of a title as a hedge against one of the copies having a glitch. Anyways, my copy plays fine so I'll trade the unopened one.

Any one have the 3-D Hong Kong releases of CZ12, Young Detective Dee, The Painted Skin, Mr. Go, or Natalie? Anyways, if you do, or have some other out-of-print title of interest, give me a shout out. I just posted it in the 3-D trading section.

Not sure if this is stereoscopic since it includes glasses. So be careful.

Is that definitely a real 3D blu ray Joe? Looks a lot like an anaglyph release as there's no real 3D logo on the front and it mentions including glasses for the 3D. The first post in this thread says the UK version (which that one is) only features anaglyph 3D.

Hi Joe,
Sadly the UK release is only anaglyph and the standard French release doesn't have English audio.

HBO family is having this on Thursday morning so I'll give it a look see first before pursuing further.

When a disc is listed as "3D Active" does that mean stereoscopic and not anaglyphic?

Probably. The main thing with this title is to make sure you avoid the French and UK versions.

It's the French release that says active on Amazon france. Thanks for the warning. Somebody's mentioned it was anaglythic even though listed otherwise.

I got the Belgian release from Amazon.fr so it does show up there every once in a while.
