C'mon, what about when I want to watch Star wars and Lord of the Rings? Hmm, on second thought I've watched LOTR and had "extended LOTR marathons" so many times I think I'll be content to wait until it comes out on Blu-ray - and the much-loved *orignal* Star Wars, well, no matter how long Lucas takes to release them, I might as well have a break from them too

I'm keeping my region free dvd player. How else am I going to watch dvds from Japan and Europe? Actually, I haven't even watched them yet. Oh well.

Nope. It was great when I got the PS3, cause I was able to get rid of my DVD player and PS2.

Better, I haven't "loaded" a CD in months since I know stream all my music from my computer.

The PS3 really helped clear some clutter and helped connect my other media devices into a hub - all viewed through my t.v. and heard on my home theater.

Very cool.

I still use my DVD player. I have an Oppo and use it for DVDs, SACDs and DVD-As. I only use my PS3 for BDs and RCE protected DVDs since I have my Oppo running in region free mode. Since I have PAL DVDs from the UK, I will likely use my player for both music and movies for some time to come.

I basically only buy TV seasons on DVD now. The last exception was last week when I ordered the Family Guy Blue Harvest LE set. I keep telling myself that I bought a Family Guy Tshirt that happened to come with a free DVD.

Yes, my DVD player is region free while my PS3 is region 3 for DVDs. My online rental store stocks both region 1 and region 3 DVDs so I need a way to play the region 1 DVDs.

If I could get the PS3 to be region free for DVD, then I probably would use it exclusively for Blu-ray, DVD, SACD and CD playback.

I still use mine but its an all in one system so i'd have to get new surround sound if i got rid of it. I use it more than the ps3 for movies, I only use the ps3 for Blu and movies that I really want to see upscaled.

I still have my region free DVD player hooked up via component, as to be honest I cant see that the PS3 upscaler is any better than the DVD component and TV upscaler. so I use the DVD player for DVD's to save wear and tear on the PS3. (Could be my eyesight of course)

Where there is Blu, there is no DVD player (except for the Blu-Ray player itself). I have retired two DVD players thus far. The problem is that my wife wants a VCR connected, but I've been successfully dodging it so far.
