The High School Musical series stars Joshua Bassett, Matt Cornett, Kate Reinders, and Frankie A. Rodriguez, all charged with ushering in a new generation of the High School Musical story.

The first episode of the series will be screened for audiences at D23 in a standalone panel following the Disney+ presentation.

So it's a series shot like it's a documentary with actors playing "real" kids putting on the school musical based on the movie, with a ridiculous title? Seems a little too involved, why not just not act like it's a documentary and style it after Glee? lol

It totally looks ridiculus, but holy moly, I'm gonna watch the shit outta this, cause it looks funny and that version of Status Quo doesn't sound bad at all. And there's swearing??? I need to watch it!

Probably just early-mid 2010 level MTV/ABC Family cussing where they say it in the dialogue but it's still bleeped.

I’m glad it’s not a reboot or even a sequel to the trilogy so it leaves it alone and I can pretend this never happened. Now are we ready to talk about how High School Musical 3 is a great movie?

So I actually started watching this and it's a pretty good show. I was within the target demographic when the original movie came out on Disney Channel, but I never thought it was much more than mediocre. Definitely don't need to be invested in the original movies to enjoy it, and maybe it's even better if you're not. Family friendly, but enjoyable for adults too. I'll probably binge through the rest of the season in the next couple of days.
