Default Device(s) no longer supporting Vudu app?

I just received this email from Fandango at Home:

"We’re reaching out to let you know that the Vudu app, now known as Fandango at Home, will no longer be supported on one or more of your devices. Starting on December 10, 2024, the Vudu app icon may remain on your device, but it will no longer function.

You can still access your account and enjoy your full library on 100s of newer devices, such as your computer or mobile phone by downloading the Fandango at Home app."

This is pretty vague. Any idea what device(s) are being discontinued?

Another reason you can't trust digital media.

I got the same email.

If it isn't on this list, it's likely to be obsoleted.

I have quite a few devices .. they obviously know which of mine will no longer be supported, so it would have been really helpful if they had included that information in the email.

I just logged into my Vudu account and navigated to my devices; nothing to see there either. Would it have been too much to ask for them to flag the ones that will soon no longer be supported?

Ugh!

Tim Eastman If you're using old devices then they likely will, upgrade to a new device, there's no shortage of options that support vudu. Every company does this with old tech, they eventually stop supporting it to focus on current gen. device support. If your device isn't on here then I'd expect it to stop working on Dec. 10th

Got this off the fandango Facebook page. Maybe it is the answer.

It looks like PS 4 is not listed, apparently Sony is stopping support for PS4 in 2025. Ugh imma have to update. I’m not a big gamer, I run my movies through my PS4 and I have a decent amount on vudu or fandango. The cable apps for fandango suxxxxx. My PS4 is my reliable one!!

Wait. So you'd rather spend $500.00 on a whole giant video game console just to stream Fandango? Why wouldn't you just get a streaming stick. You'll probably see some good 4K ones for like $30 on Black Friday. I love my Google TV. It has so much more functionality for streaming than a PS5.

From my experience the coolest thing about having the app on the console is you have everything in one place. Want to watch a BD check. Want to play a game check. Want to stream something check.

It a full blown entertainment system. It's neatO

But yeah it isn't hard to switch inputs over to a dedicated streaming device. I like Roku myself.

I’m guessing it’ll mostly be devices that don’t support 4k as that didn’t exist when they were made.

Why not just use some type of a streaming stick/box? Roku, Firestick, Apple TV? I have Rokus all through my house and a Firestick 4K Max for traveling and both have been great.

What’s the link to devices that are currently supporting 3D? My So y tv app still works for 2D but 3D was turned off
