I remember this movie! I really enjoyed it. Forgot all about it until I saw your post, and never realized it was a Michael Crichton film. I saw it in the theater and then several times on VHS. Haven't seen it in maybe 20 years. This is a great 1980s sci-fi action gem. Isn't this the film where Jean Simmons from Kiss is the bad guy who figures out how to take control of servant robots and make them attack people?

Edit: just watched the trailer. Yep, this is the one with Jean Simmons. And Kirstie Alley....Whoa! I had forgotten what a hottie she was. Time has not been kind to her.

Since this is a Tri-Star property, a subsidiary of Columbia, it is owned by Sony. Looks like this would make a cool Twilight Time release, since Sony likely has it on their restoration schedule but won't be releasing it themselves (at least in the U.S.).

Glad to see there are others who think this might make a nice BD release; was also thinking Twilight Time would be perfect and we'd get the isolated music score from them!

A few years back a friend told me he bought a brand new DVD's of 'Runaway' at Big Lots. I drove straight there after work and picked up my copy for $3.

I would love to own this film in HD!

Yea.....a good guilty pleasure movie for me. Hopefully somebody like Twilight Time will pick it up. Sony/Columbia simply can't be bothered.
