I've been watching a lot of early, silent Fords lately and I'm getting tired of godawful TV recordings and VHS rips, so it's nice to see something by him in 4K UHD every once in a while.

Oh, are there any of his silent movies still available outside of the iron horse, the 3 bad men and the two Ford silent movies Eureka released a few years ago? I've only seen those and would be intrigued by anything else.

The Scarlet Drop was a lost Ford that was just rediscovered in the last year but it's not available yet AFAIK.

Just Pals was released on DVD in the old Ford at Fox box set. I think it's on Tubi and probably YouTube.

Four Sons was in the same box set. Well worth seeing, stylistically akin to Sunrise/Murnau.

The Shamrock Handicap has been on Criterion streaming before.

The oddity Upstream is on YouTube.

There's a movie he did with Tom Mix that's also floating around online.

Cameo Kirby is on YouTube in a terrible copy with non-English titles. Not sure I'll ever have the patience to sit and watch it.

Yeah. To be exact, fourteen of his silents fully survive to this date:

01. Straight Shooting (1917) - Kino BD in Region A and Eureka BD in Region B
02. Bucking Broadway (1917) - as a supplement on Criterion's Stagecoach BD
03. Hell Bent (1917) - Kino BD in region A and Eureka BD in region B
04. Just Pals (1920) - HD version available on Amazon, iTunes, etc.
05. Cameo Kirby (1923) - the only available copy is basically unwatchable due to Portuguese intertitles
06. The Iron Horse (1924) - French BD by Sidonis has both US and international versions
07. Lightnin’ (1925) - a TV rip of the MoMA-preserved print exists [YT]
08. Kentucky Pride (1925) - the 4K restoration that was available on Criterion Channel for a while can also be watched on Wikimedia
09. The Shamrock Handicap (1926) - another TV rip and available on Wikimedia
10. 3 Bad Men (1926) - Kino BD
11. Upstream (1927) - HD version with French subtitles available on Wikimedia
12. Four Sons (1928) - HD version available on Amazon, iTunes, etc.
13. Hangman's House (1928) - HD version available on iTunes
14. Riley the Cop (1928) - TV rip available on Wikimedia

Men Without Women (1928) was originally made as a sound film but only the silent version made for international markets exists today. That one got a standalone DVD release from Fox back in 2015.

Yeah, it recently got some media coverage but apparently they were a bit misleading with their information as this is still missing some scenes (approximately a reel?) and therefore doesn't fully survive.

Are you perhaps confusing that with Kentucky Pride? Thankfully, Fox and MoMA have restored that one too but I don't think it has ever been made available to stream.

As for Donovan's reef, i've actually never seen it. It's one of those movies i've wanted to watch for two decades but somehow never have. This new release is the perfect opportunity! It's crazy how great it's been for Wayne fans lately, with The searchers, Hatari, this and Sand of Iwo Jima (which i've also never seen!).
