It was filmed for HD, no idea how the VFX were rendered or composited though.

Should be a major upgrade over Netflix HD version.
Surprised to see it listed as 1080p, BD series are usually released in sped-up 1080i25 form in Germany as they receive the masters like that for broadcast.

I'm from Germany and know almost no shows whatsoever that were released in 1080i25 on Blu-Ray here. Maybe some local shows that were shot that way but almost all TV-Shows that are released on Blu-Ray over here are 1080P. You're probably confusing Germany with France, where releasing shows in 1080i is more common if I remember correctly.

Caprica, The Librarians and Bitten do come to mind as 1080i/50Hz, as does a couple of releases from the CSI franchise.

Season 1 was released last week. Here are a few pictures of the set:

The bad news first: Like a a lot of other Koch releases this one is region locked to Region B and Menus are German only but easy to navigate even without knowing the language.

The Rest:
The FSK-Sticker on the Slipcover can be removed easily. The case comes with a turnaround cover without the FSK logo. (See Screenshots 1 and 2.)

It's a 2-Disc-Set. Disc 1 contains the double length Pilot, Episode 2 and an audio commentary on the Pilot by Scott Peters and Joel Gretsch.
Disc 2 contains the remaining three episodes, a short video introduction by Scott Peters and deleted scenes .

Picture is 1080P. I checked a few episodes and the quality is ok if nothing to write home about. A bit soft in places. Given the age and budget of the show this is probably the best it's ever going to look. Sound is DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 for English and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 for German. Subtitles in English and German.

and see for myself, and then decide about the subsequent seasons.

Shipping was around $5 USD. Took just 2 days door to door! DHL doesn't mess around. Color me impressed.

Thanks for the screenshots. Could you check the audio on the second season? I've read somewhere that english audio is only 5.0 on that season. Is that true?
