Another Anne Rice series. Should eventually crossover with Interview with the Vampire I would think.

Just watched the first episode and I enjoyed it. I haven't read the Mayfair books but I did read the vampire chronicles and enjoyed interview with the vampire show as well.

I'm torn. The show looks good (plus Alexandra

), but I really want to read the books. Problem is I'm currently reading multiple books already, and that 1st book is huge, so it'll take me a while to get through it.

There will probably be two or three seasons to cover the first book so you’ve got time.

They’ve also amalgamated two of the main characters from the book into a new made up character for the show. So it’s already diverging quite a bit.

I don't know anything about this show (or the books!), but what's the tone of it? Lighter fantasy or heavier horror? I assume lighter??

And I hate to be the one to broach it but Michael Curry is one of Anne Rice’s most autobiographical characters. Using him allowed her to put into her work the history of Irish Catholic working class immigrants in New Orleans. It adds another layer of rich cultural history to the text. And it’s the history of Rice and her family.

It’s a bit tone deaf swapping out his character and amalgamating him with Aaron Lightner who they could have kept in as an Englishman and swapped out his race without losing anything.

I watched the pilot and found it to be pretty solid. I'll be checking out the remainder of the season for sure.

If I have the Disney plus Trio bundle, I do see AMC show up in the list of channels under Hulu. Wonder if I have access to this. I do like this kind of TV show. Hopefully, I can!

Got through the first three episodes but haven't gone back to finish the series. Mainly watched it for Alexandria and AnnaBeth but it just wasn't "much watch" for me unfortunately...

I tried reading The Witching Hour on two separate occasions, like years apart.

I just could never get through it. I made it to the trademark Rice tool where she uses a physical object as a means to center a giant exposition dump in the middle of the book.

It's the only book I could never finish. It's not terrible, but I just could never connect with the characters. Maybe I'll try for a third time, WAY down the line.

My mom let me know she ordered the BDs so I will borrow them and give it a shot. Pretty much the same way I discovered Fringe and Grimm and they turned out to be two of my all time favorite show.

This has one of the coolest slipcovers I've seen. Not quite a match for the one for Weird Science, but way up there, velvety slip with spot metallic sheen.

For some reason this has no forum thread entry under the blu-ray section.
