It's anti-thematic; she didn't even play croquet, they buried her in the lawn!

And the style is classic, like Leave Her to Heaven or something, not modern or outré.

How about her sitting on her bed writing in her journal (next to that cool punctuation-mark dresser!) center and lower 2/3, Heathers over one shoulder and JD over the other (both devils!)

Terrible cover artwork and usually I wouldn’t even comment because it would just be a repacking of an old transfer in an ugly steelbook but with the 4k arrow 30th anniversary release, there’s very good reason to think this will be the upgraded disc and I’ll buy that in whatever packaging they put it in.

Okay, so I pre-ordered this the instant I saw it without thinking that it might be the old disc in steelbook packaging, and I am literally praying to Jesus that it is not. I’m considering canceling my pre-order until I know for sure. This is the last of my favorite films that I need to get on Blu-ray, and I’ve been patiently waiting on a region A friendly release of the Arrow edition. I assume that it might at the very least be the new transfer, and the price doesn’t bother me because it will almost certainly come down by release day. Also, a high price point might mean it might be a true special edition. Someone needs to email RLJ and ask, but they’re not the hands on fan-friendly company they were back in the 90s/early 2000s when they were Image and one of the top laserdisc boutique labels.

RLJ is also releasing Elvira alongside Arrow’s stateside release, but Frank Simeoni from Arrow told me on Twitter that RLJ wanted to keep Heathers to themselves. On the bright side, it looks like they’re using Arrow’s transfer for Elvira since it apparently didn’t have an HD scan before, which bodes well for Heathers, but I’m still worried about the extras.

And I’m not bothered by the cover. None of this film’s artwork has ever been very good. Even Arrow’s new art isn’t great.

EDIT: Sent an email to ccampbell@acorn.tv (to someone named Chad Campbell) about this. It’s the only email address I could find on RLJ’s website.

Even if they wanted illustrated they should've used that pose. I don't even recognize Winona Ryder in this new art.

I have a region free player and Arrow's release. Was hoping for a remastered region A and got impatient... I feel like I made the right choice.

Artwork would be okay if it were part of a series with all the characters (like they did for the DVD) but again, who would ever buy them all to have the complete set?
Pretty lackluster otherwise. Love my Arrow blu and love their commissioned cover art as well.
