I am so over Warner Brothers being dodgy with their new 4K movies!
Every single ones gets a new file on iTunes and the old one that is already purchased is never updated. So frustrating. Every other company is on the boat but not them. The latest being Clockwork Orange. I know it’s been happening a while but it’s just rough. Last edited by dawson1138; 09-21-2021 at 03:24 AM. |

And Fox.
At least they were until Disney took over. I can’t remember any 4K upgrades since them. |

Yes, the HD looks like it is not getting upgraded, hence the original post. Thanks for your useless contribution though.

What part of "Kind of confused. You paid for a 4K version of a film and then Warner came out with another 4K version and you didn't get that as well? Or you bought the HD or SD version and now that Warner has a 4K version you weren't given that for free? Only see one 4K version on iTunes for A Clockwork Orange." is being a "jackass"? It was asking for clarification.
Again it seems like a personal attack from you. |

Warner Bros did this with Willie Wonka, and it appeared like they were trying to get out of upgrading the previous listing by relisting. However, my previously listed Willy Wonka "did" upgrade to 4k shortly after.
I suspect Clockwork Orange will upgrade shortly with a little patience. What other movies got this dodgy treatment from Warner, but the previous listing "Did Not" ever get upgraded to 4k? |

Maybe I'm missing something, but I can totally understand that studios don't want to upgrade their digital copies at no charge. They're not giving you a free 4K UHD disc if you bought the Blu-ray disc 5 years ago. If you buy a 4K UHD disc, redeem the new code and you'll have a 4K digital copy.

I can understand studios not wanting to give free 4K upgrades. I have re-purchased my fair share of relisted WB titles in the past, so I get it.
The sticking point for people however is this remark from the original Apple TV4K press release: “iTunes users will get automatic upgrades of HD titles in their existing iTunes library to 4K HDR versions when they become available.” As far as I’m aware, this has not changed. WBs continual relisting of movies does contravene this statement, rightly or wrongly. |
