Just recently upgraded the home theater to 4K:
Sony UBP-X800M2 and Benq HT3550 I'm running 35 ft of 8K HDMI Fiber Optic Cable 35ft, 4K120 8K@60Hz HDMI 2.1 Cable, ARISEN 48Gbps Ultra High Speed Slim HDMI Optical Audio Cable HDMI Cord, eARC HDR10 HDCP 2.2 Compatible with PS5 Xbox TV Projector I got from Amazon. My only issue is that there is a serious lag between when I start a disc (or sometime just press play) and getting an image on screen. The sound is fine, but the screen is black for about 8-10 seconds. Cable issue? Setting issue? Any help from this fine community would be awseome! |

When your player is on, go to the menu and change the resolution/frame rate, is there a delay? Is the cable certified? do you need that spec? are you able to try a shorter cable (might be difficult with a projector)? |

I don't use it for games, just movies It seems the lag is when the projector is finding the video "source". There is no lag in audio at all. If I skip back, it's usually fine from the beginning. I'll have to check. Haven't played with resolution or frame rate as player usually defaults to 2160. I was told to get an optical HDMI cable (I included the cable I got from Amazon in my post). I know all HDMI cables are not the same and was trying to find a longer run that wouldn't break the bank. |

None of the above. The HT3550 just takes forever to do the handshake and sync to the source. It's annoying but normal. Updating the firmware may speed it up a bit, but there will always be a longer handshake than you're used to with a tv.
https://www.benq.com/en-us/support/d...re-driver.html But personally, if the slow handshake is your only issue and you aren't encountering any of the other HT3550 quirks, then I'd suggest leaving it alone. Just hit pause after pressing play until it syncs if you don't want to miss the studio logos, etc. |
