United Kingdom The Dino King aka Speckles The Tarbosaurus 3D Blu-ray (2012) [Region Locked]

The Dino King 3D

http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Dino-Kin.../dp/B00838N3QY

Does anyone know if this a native 3D movie
or a poorly converted one?

Synopsis

IN A TIME BEFORE MAN, when Dinosaurs ruled the earth, a young Tarbosaurus fights a desperate battle to survive after becoming separated from his family. Lost in the deepest depths of the hostile jungle, hungry and alone, the Tarbosaurus happens upon a much needed ally and companion in the form of a young female Tarbosaurus, together they help each other survive through the treacherous and forbidding terrain. Many years later, now an adult and with a family of his own, the brave Tarbosaurus returns to his birthplace, only to find a monstrous, terrifying T-Rex, now the king of his family’s hunting grounds ruling the land with a ferocious power. The Tarbosaurus must challenge him once and for all to regain the land and become The Dino King.

Painstakingly recreated in breath taking animation The Dino King will let you experience what is was like to walk with these prehistoric beasts.

Synopsis

After his whole family is killed by an evil, old, one eyed Tarbosaurus, Speckles, a baby Tarbosaurus, must run away and learn to survive on his own. We follow Speckles on this epic journey as he learns to fight and hunt. While this is happening, evil One Eye has taken over as the alpha male and dominant predator. Can Speckles defeat One Eye and avenge his family?
I've done some major research into this one (i.e. typed it into Google search ) and so far haven't found much information on it either. So to me, that more than likely means that it's not very good and/or a rush conversion job of a poor quality movie. I might be wrong though, but personally I'm not willing to risk spending my hard earned dosh on something dubious like this until it's at least been reviewed on a a few different websites. There's just too much dodgy 3D out there at the moment.

Distributed by Studio Canal, so who knows. It may end up being a sleeper hit within the 3D community, or just plain suck.

They should have a 3D trailer so we can judge the 3D for Dino King. Dinosaur the movie also needs re-rendering to 3D.

As far as Dino King being made with computer CGI animation (computer generated imagery/CGI), chances are very good they filmed it in 3D with virtual 3D cameras. It would be kind of foolish to convert a 3D computer animated film unless it was an ancient one and all the original files were lost or there was too much compositing done, or render time.

I forget where this got mentioned recently because it apparently was not this thread lol. Anyway, I imported this and watched it over my vacation.

I don't know how I missed this when it came out. I wouldn't have gotten it in 3D, but just the movie itself I don't know how I missed it. I liked this so much! It's a very raw portrayal of a T-Rex like dinosaur growing up, facing hardships, and becoming a successful hunter. Many of the events showed here or similar probably actually happened
to some dinos.

I probably thought this was like a kids movie but it's totally not. It doesn't shy away from violence at all. And some of the scenes are hard to watch too.

I didn't mind the narration. Seemed fine.

The animation is terrific. It's not photorealistic, but nonetheless is pretty convincing. 3D was a little bit of a letdown. Mostly weak medium to medium and sometimes medium strong.

The disc annoyingly does not tell you it is region locked. On both my PS3 and my Oppo (when set to region A) it just goes back to the player's menu with no message or whatever. You would probably think the disc is bad if you didn't know about region locking. What a horrible and honestly wrong implementation. I mean that applies to region locking in general of course and we've all just accepted it I guess, but to let you think the disc is just bad? That's a whole other level of bad. You'd probably order another one only to find the same thing.

I highly recommend this, for the movie alone even, and the 3D is a bonus. Just gotta be region B/free.
