Any chance of this movie being available to watch digitally at home upon theatrical release due to rising COVID cases? My wife probably doesn’t want me to go to the movies in January under the current pandemic cases.

Unless they change plans within the next 2 weeks, no.

Probably too late at this point to renegotiate everyone’s backend deals.

That would never work for me, as my wife knows I don't have any real friends, lol...just you online types.

Wish this were called something other than just Scream. Another instance of a terrible repeat title that will only cause more confusion down the line.

Why can’t you just go on a weekday or an early showing when there’s nobody there? Plus wear a mask - the chances of you contracting Covid under those circumstances would be nearly impossible. There ARE ways to go to the theater and avoid crowds. I do it all the time, I don’t understand why this is so difficult for some people.

They should’ve called it “Scram!” And whenever Ghostface is about to kill someone (s)he goes “NOW SCRAM!”

Yeah looking forward to this…hopefully I can avoid spoilers before actually seeing it.

I used to work at a cinema, and yup. Just go on a Tuesday or Wednesday around noon or at 10pm. Even big movies are almost always slow during those times. Then choose a seat as far away from everyone else as possible. Don’t get concessions and wear a mask.

I hate annoying moviegoers. I learned weekdays with the first or second showing is always the way to go. Not many people are there at this time and if they are, they're guaranteed to be quiet. Seats shouldn't be an issue so you can sit far.

So this is Scream 5 but they are calling it Scream!? What is it with studios and this arrogant, chronological confusing labeling of movies that are apart of a active running franchise!? Scream 4 in 2011 had no hesitation being called Scream 4 after Scream 3 from 2000.

I could understand it with Rocky Balboa (2006) after Rocky V (1990) because of the 16 year difference and the fact that Rocky V was universally frowned upon and that Stallone wanted to make things right, (although personally I'm a fan of Rocky V but I get why they did it). Ditto Rambo (2008) after Rambo III (1988).

What I don't like is when movies like The Thing (2011) which is a prequel, or Halloween (2018) which is a sequel, re-use the same tittle as there original counterparts giving the strongest of indications that it's going to be a remake, or reboot set in its own universe that has no connection to what came before. It's deceiving, lazy and cheap. By the way fair play to Rob Zombie's 2007 Halloween because that actually was a remake, so calling the 2007 film simply Halloween is obviously fine.

…and that killed its box-office lol. There are several reasons this new film is called “Scream” and it isn’t just a marketing ploy.

The box office of 4 wasn’t great but was fine. I think the movie was poorly marketed too. I know people who didn’t even know 4 had come out until seeing the discs in store shelves.

I’m sure it’ll do fine at the Box Office. The bigger problem is that it’s the first without Wes and his replacements are…the directors of Ready or Not. So it’ll probably be bad.
