I'm compiling all PS3 games that feature either offline co-op or head-2-head, along with links for folks to check out reviews. Thanks for all the good recommendations. Please keep them coming, and I'll keep updating. Maybe they'll make it a sticky.

You can play Resistance for action, but I'm not familiar with any of the racing titles. Virtua tennis should be fun too, but I don't know if you're into sports stuff. It seems like this is a weak point in a lot of games today...no co-ops.

If you would like to spring for it, go for Rock Band.

It's something that the whole family can get involved it.

I really like Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Then again, I'm kind of geeky that way.

We have Lego Star Wars for me and the kids to play. And I'm really looking forward to WipeoutHD as Wipeout was my fave game on the PS1.

What else is there?
Resistance: Fall of Man has a good co-op.
Kane and Lynch does also but the game is not that great, a bad port.
Thats all I know of sorry.

Well The Girlfriend And I, And Pretty Much All My Friends And Family From My Sister To My Grandma, Love Rock Band. If It Means Just Watching Or Playing, There Is Tones Of Fun To Be Had With It Offline And On. I Personally Am Not One Of Those Music Game People Never Played Dance Dance Revolution Or Guitar Hero (well Until Owning Rock Band), Never Played Any Musical Instruments In School Growing Up Or Anything, It's Just A Really Fun Game And Its Easy To Pick Up. And Right Out The Box Its Ready For 3 People To Play At Once. So I Would Say That Its A Must Get. If U Connect Online At All There R Always A Lot Of Songs And Stuff In The Playstation Store That You Can Download For A Small Fee, But It Keeps The Game New With Constant New Songs To Master. Hope This Was Helpful.

Call of Duty 4 or Rock Band. Call of Duty 4 is very fun offline and you can play up to 4 people. It is also very fun online too.

Rock Band is obviously a rhythm game, and if you liked Guitar Hero, you will love to play Rock Band. It's especially good with friends.

Thanks to everyone for the recommendations!

My wife and I tried out Resistance: FoM tonight, and she was actually doing decent, but got frustrated with the controls. Oh well... maybe a bit more practice.

Of course, not 30 minutes after she went to bed, I discovered High Velocity Bowling and spent the better part of 2 hours with it. FUN! I'll have to introduce her to it tomorrow.

I have Marvel: Ultimate Alliance for X360. Is the PS3 version any different/better?

I am assuming you recently got a PS3? If so, how do you like it so far?

Yup... just got the 80gb model on Friday!

I love it so far... the Blu-ray load speeds are tons faster than my S300, and the few games I have are fun. I'm spending this weekend just downloading demos and such from PSN. The kids and I are having a blast with High Velocity Bowling and Lego Star Wars.

Buy Calling all Cars and PAIN off the PSN.

And Rock Band.

NHL 08 is good too. Be sure to get the EA game, not the 2K sports one.

calling all cars is a great two player game. Tekken DR is also great if you're into fighting games.

We like the co-op mode in Rainbow 6 Vegas, but in it, you are attacking terrorists. It may be more violent than what you're looking for, but my husband and I enjoy it. And I would definitely have to agree with everyone else...Rock Band is awesome!

Got Calling All Cars off PSN last night. You're right -- it's a blast!

The wife loves Lemmings. I, unfortunately, dislike her asking me to solve the more advanced puzzles for her. Her reasoning? "But you're left-handed... you're supposed to be good at this!"

Yeah... probably a tad too violent for the kids, but for us it's good.

We are definitely trying to find a good deal on Virtua Tennis. The demo is fun.
