Best Dramas about Father/Young Daughter Relationship?

Anyone got some recommendations for dramas regarding father/young daughter or mother/young daughter relationships?

I've seen a number of tearjerkers lately out of South Korean about this subject matter, but am looking to see some more (Korean or not).

Yes, I agree. I've seen that movie many times. It's a favorite, but not just because of the daughter/father angle.

Prancer (1989) Sam Elliot plays the father and it’s easily one of his better roles. It’s a nice movie all around.

The little seen, "Imaginary Crimes", from 1994, is very good and criminally underrated.

Harvey Keitel is stellar as a con man whose wife dies and he is left to finish raising two young daughters alone, as one scheme of his after another falls through. Fairuza Balk and Elisabeth Moss are the daughters. Vincent D'Onofrio, Chris Penn, Kelly Lynch, and Seymour Cassel also star.

A very good film that unfortunately never found an audience.

The Light Between Oceans - it stars Alicia Vikander, Michael Fassbender and Rachel Weisz. It’s about a lighthouse keeper and his wife who can’t bear a child, and one day a drifting lifeboat washes ashore with a dead man and a baby girl in it. The movie is actually great and very touching with superb performances and cinematography.

I watched The Descendants and Leave No Trace. Enjoyed them both, though Leave No Trace certainly hit me harder and stayed with me, even angered me at how stubborn the father was/is, but understood why.

I watched I Am Sam years ago and didn't particularly like it, but maybe it's worth a rewatch since I'm much older now.

I can't think of any off the top of my mind, but Thanos and Gomorrah, as his adopted daughter in the Avengers films is a father daughter situation, at least until he

Then the game Last of Us, will be made into a series.

Another film would be Liam Neeson in Taken, but that's an action film. The drama parts show how he really cares for his daughter despite being divorced, and how he will sacrifice his own life for her.

This drama by Dennis Hopper is very dark, not a pleasant story.

It doesn't matter whether it's the girls father or mother, neither is any good.
