I listened to it when I used to do all-night drives up the west coast for work. It was a perfect match for those endless dark highways. Sweet memories.

Yeah, I worked overnight before and got into from some co-workers. Chilling in my car listening to it during my lunch break. Now I try to catch it regularly.

WTF the irony. I was just posting about Coast to Coast AM in the urban legends thread. I can hear the bumper music in my head. I like both George and Art when he still did it.

Oh wow.....I have many happy memories of listening to this in the late 1990s early 2000s when Art Bell did the program. I lived in Las Vegas and Washington State during that time period and did a lot of driving back and forth and to job locations in between. Interestingly, Art Bell would do his broadcasts from Pahrump, NV, just over the mountains outside of Las Vegas.
Many late night drives in the inky dark through the desert from LV to Boise or through Salt Lake City. Coast to Coast AM and lots of coffee made the trips a blast. Last edited by oildude; 11-29-2021 at 01:27 AM. |

True, nothing ever stays the same, we movie on, which is what I did. Noory was an adequate replacement, but it was just time for me to move on by the end of his first year.

I used to listen to it as a kid when I was going to sleep at night. It's like story time before bedtime. And now all those conspiracies and coverups are nothing compared to the ones people tout today which cause actual damage.

What I appreciated most about the Coast to Coast hosts were how they just let the guests and callers tell their story without trying to interject or talk over them like so many TV talk show hosts do today. And by letting them talk long enough, eventually they'd say something that would knock their own house of cards over. |
