Don't hold your breath. It might happen, but it very well might not ever, as well. There are no Aniplex of America sales; only seemingly random items on sale during the Christmas sales.

Mostly likely it will go out of print before it ever goes on sale. Just how Aniplex operates. So if you wanna wait just be prepared to be SOL.

Who knows, maybe Best Buy or ugh, Amazon will get some.
As it is, I have a huge backlog.

Best Buy or Amazon will not sell them. Only way you would find them on Amazon would be from third party sellers for more than MSRP. I can also guarantee they will not go on sale this holiday season.

Unfortunately, big retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and the like do not carry Aniplex products. I'm not sure if it's because they refuse to from a price standpoint, or because Aniplex doesn't want their releases to be sold at mass market retail, but it is what it is. RightStuf is your best bet for their stuff. And in addition to marking things up way beyond what they should ever cost, Aniplex of America does not ever really put them on sale or discount, either. And their print runs are limited, so if you don't buy a product within a year of its release there's a good chance it'll be gone forever. There's a reason why they're hated by many in the anime community.
