Sounds good if Warner really brings a UHD then, but unfortunately is not yet said.

For example, Beetlejuice had a new 4K transfer since 2018, which has not been used after the short cinema release on Halloween 18

Maybe Beetlejuice and this can both land in October. I still think the studios are holding back with catalogue releases till next gen console support is nears.

I suppose this will be proven if we suddenly see a heavy release schedule starting in September.

So one of that really stood out, vampire blood is glittery in the sun light...

I've watched this a million times at home on VHS then DVD and Blu-ray and I never once noticed that when the Frog brothers come out from the lair after the first staking covered in vampire blood that it sparkles like glitter in the sun light.


And TIL that the blood was indeed laced with a lot of glitter for this purpose.

How I haven't noticed this in 30 years I will never know.

The other thing that stood out to me was how excellent the sound was. I heard background dialogue I've never heard before. Maybe I need to turn my volume up in future.

With this thing being in cinemas (in the UK only, WTF?), I think we'll def see this in 4K in stores this Autumn... I feel it! Probably my most anticipated 4K bluray.

Well, Halloween came and went without a 4K Lost Boys release.
I assume Joel Schumacher supervised the transfer before he passed last June.
Looking forward to seeing it in 4K one day soon...

sadly that rarely means anything, even new movies with 4k DI are not even getting UHD

as I said rarely it does happen, thankfully eventually for Beetlejuice (and in very limited German release, The Princess Bride, if you count that it being so limited) but there are still: South Pacific, Titanic, The Sound Of Music, West Side Story, Carousel, Last Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Blinded By The Light, Little Women 2019. Sadly there is a less any remote hint of talk of UHDs for any of those at this point (some were even new releases).

well I guess we did also finally get Lawrence Of Arabia (and A League Of Their Own even before the covid cancelled theatrical re-release) and Rogue One and The Force Awakens and The Goonies so I guess it's been getting a bit more common finally this year, before this year, it certainly was very rare, still somewhat rare.
