![]() It was about time we got a good satirical take on all the psychological thrillers of the last couple years. |

Just wrapped up the first season a few moments ago (saw the first three on Tuesday for the virtual premiere and the other five tonight) and this is the most I've laughed watching a show in a long time. It perfectly gets the absurdity of the airline novel from start to end and even leaves some wiggle room for a season 2 (with
[Show spoiler] ) and the straight faced way the humor plays makes the absurdity even more potent. Bell gives a hell of a performance that's both ridiculous and tragic.

Didn’t know this was getting released so soon.
For some reason I it was an AppleTV+ show. Anyway been looking forward to this. Bell is a treasure. |

Bit of a mixed bag. It can’t be easy to attempt a parody of a genre which in itself often borders on parody and is full of absurdities, which is why we don’t often see it being attempted. And if this is anything to go by, for good reason. I found it easier to enjoy by just ignoring what it’s trying to be or do and just take it as it comes. In the end, neither sufficiently funny or dramatic to satisfy, but still entertaining enough to pass a few hours.

Bell is playing a form of “over the top ridiculousness” that served her well in The Good Place.
Only the reviews for The Good Place received great reviews and this received mediocre reviews We’re three episodes in, and it’s decent It’s not ‘The Good Place’ funny, but still funny |

Ahhhh I see the reason for the mediocre reviews-
We’re 5 episodes in and it’s like, the show doesn’t know what it wants to be. Does it want to be a parody or does it want to be taken seriously? The first two episodes were great because they were clearly and obviously parodies in every aspect. By the the 4th episode it basically turned into that specific genre of thriller we thought it was parodying Hopefully it gets back to the absurdness of episode one and two so we can get back to laughing |
