Texas, 1918. The Spanish flu has claimed more than 600,000 victims. Pearl lives isolated on a farm, trapped in everyday life with a paralyzed father and an embittered mother, while her husband fights in WWI. She wants nothing more than a glamorous life like in the movies. But something is wrong with her. Suppressed feelings, unfulfilled urges and psychopathic mania pave a bloody path....

The exact release date in December will be announced asap. Mediabooks will be released in spring 2024 due to production reasons.

I really want this but with the news about the Black Phone 4K I'm a bit scared and will wait for reviews.

It so weird, I was just thinking about my X Mediabook and wondering if this would get similar treatment and came home to this email announcement.

All things being equal, I would’ve preferred to have a Mediabook to match the one for X but no way in hell am I waiting until spring for that, so this Steelbook got ordered toot sweet.

could try to hunt down the plaion x steelbook, too, but i think that sells for like $50

Oh, no way. The Capelight Mediabook of X is rich, buttery goodness. Matching packaging would be nice, but it’s not at all a dealbreaker for me.

I can't help but wonder if they've still got plans for some Hellraiser 4k action....Maybe waiting to see if Arrow fumbles something in their quadrilogy?

The pattern has been that A24 sublicenses the film first to Lionsgate and gives them (usually) a multi-year exclusivity period to the release in any formats they please. After that expires, A24 is free to release the title on their webstore.

As another poster stated, LG didn't see X fit for release in 4K, so its doubtful they will with Pearl. An A24 version will likely come out in 4K years from now, but its unlikely it will be in a steelbook given A24 packaging history.

So to answer your question, very unlikely.

A24 is probably also waiting for MaXXXine to come out to do a trilogy release.
