Default Home Theater Fish Tank.... help?

hey everyone,

I just re-did a reef tank set up i my theater room. It's a 45 cube, nothing humongous. But considering all the updates im doing to my set up i figured maybe my tank could benefit.

two questions.

would a small Blu-ray sign or if you have another idea look cool in it? or tacky and unnecessary?

also what would make it tank safe? or where to get one?

thanks for any comments and help

Thumbs up

Images please, 45inches is around 4' or four feet in each dimension. Or is that 45 centimeters making it 1 & a half feet from corner to corner. You want a waterproof sign or a sign behind the tank shining into the room?

You got to upload an image, love fish tanks! Not tropical fish as they die with power outages...

If I was doing it instead of a sign I'd probably just put random pieces of movie memorabilia inside the tank as sunken treasures. Discreet but noticeable when people check out your fish.

Nothing expensive I'm talking like toys, for example a small crashed Millennium Falcon ship into at the bottom of the tank, hell looking at the pics you could do an entire Tatooine scene as if the bottom is sand. Little cantina and land-speeder toys, a jawa or two here and there.

Or go like an Indiana Jones route and put the fertility idol, the ark, the crystal skull, Coronado's Cross, etc down there as if they've been lost at sea.

The trick is do to it tiny so it's not really noticeable to anyone as anything other than "fish tank props" but when they look closer they go "Hey is that..." and you can just say "yep!"

Your on to something with the toys...

I remember a fellow that built the RED October (Submarine) had it coated in epoxy & submerged it. The same guy ended up with a 4 foot long Titanic Model broke in halk (professionally) in his 300 Gallon tank about 6 months after Titanic originally hit theaters.

He loved aquariums. He was into ships & naval stuff, However, Finding memorabilia from "The Abyss" 20,000 Leagues under the sea.. Well many other films with water could be done, Even Jaws!

Good luck, Always remember that adding anything sizable will effect water flow, filtration, & can be harmful if not treated properly or its not biologically safe..

Love to see what you do!

i like the idea's but making the "reef safe" is my biggest concern and yea i just want little things where algae and coral grow on them so you really have to look but i know they are there. i just dont know what would be reef safe. the signs are acrylic which is 100% safe but i dont know what they are etched with

movies i like, tmnt, beetlejuice, ghostbusters, star wars, nightmare elm street etc..

would be sweet to do somwthing here like this... like a mini glove coming out of the sand muahah

love the feedback maybe we can all put our heads together and do something here

Just to throw some more ideas out there for you, How about something from Pirates Of The Caribbean or something from 20000 Leagues Under the Sea. Maybe something like a piece of Aztech gold from Pirate sticking out of the sand. I know you can find replicas of them on Ebay, ect.
