Default Coen Brothers on UHD?

Lebowski has been out for awhile of course but I'd like to see more of the Coen's on UHD, most especially Millers Crossing and No Country.

Yes!

For me, my top 5 for 4KUHD (not my order of favorite Coen Bro films, just the ones I most want upgraded):
  • O Brother, Where Art Thou
  • True Grit
  • No Country for Old Men
  • Fargo
  • Hail, Caesar!
Miller's Crossing would be nice as well. I've got the Kino Barton Fink, but would probably get the UHD if it came out.

Eh?

They are all quite good films, and have nice things about them individually.

I'm interested in all of them on some level.

I would love to see Blood Simple and Fargo in 4K. Just recently watched my 4K of Big Lebowski for a class I am taking and was thinking about their stuff on 4K.

They'd have to book time (and get Deakins when he's not working) to completely redo the digital color grading, since the digital intermediate they originally did it in is probably 1080p, so it'd be a cheap upscaling. Better to just do it over at 4k, or 8k better still.

So some progress with Coen's and 4k. My biggest question is what is the chance of Criterion or Shout doing a 4k of Miller's Crossing? Criterion of course would need to mend the errors made on their not too distant blu (the reason I've not purchased it)....but don't know how much longer I can hold off for a 4k.

Probably won't happen any time soon, the deal was made for them to put Miller's Crossing out before Disney bought out Fox and locked the vault up. Disney has not licensed to Criterion or Shout since either have been doing blu-rays with only a few notable exceptions. It has never happened in the case of a film by the Coens.

Sadly, I think Miller's Crossing and Raising Arizona are non-starters as they're Disney/Fox titles. Which sucks. They're both absolute classics. I'd also love Barton Fink and Hudsucker Proxy, and well, pretty much all of them. I do have hope that Criterion will get us Man Who Wasn't There. Thought I'd heard they had it....
