Default Japanese films

I was just curious as to if any of these movies will be released on blu some are old and some are new.

The sword of doom
Zatoichi
Akira

Each of them are great movies, sword of doom is a samauri classic from the 1960's. Zatocichi is also a samauri movie and it came out in 2003. Akira is one of the craziest anime movies i have ever seen

It all depends on who owns the U.S. distribution rights.

Sword of Doom - Criterion is not releasing in hidef yet.
Takeshi Kitano's Zatoichi - a Miramax title.
Lady Snowblood - I have no idea where Animeigo stands on hidef.
Akira - announced from Bandai Visual at Japanese prices (hefty).

One never knows when one might see the first three from Japan though; It is region A.

I want a collection of Akira Kurosawa films, like Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, and Throne of Blood. And also other films like Black Rain, Tampopo, Double Suicide, etc...
So many good new and old films actually. I would LOVE to see most of these on Blu-ray, with English subs.

I've seen only a fraction of the Kurosawa canon but I'd easily blind-buy any of his work on BD. And Tampopo is one of my all-time favorite films.

A seamlessly-branched Gojira/Godzilla, King of the Monsters would be awfully nice.

I'll take Azumi and Whiteout. Battle Royal would be great too.
