I know it's an older show, and not many people liked it. But I'm having problems with season 1 disk 5. I bought the seasons maybe 4-5 years ago and all the disks played fine watching them twice (+) since then. Then last month I started the series over again and I can't get this disk to play at all. It won't even load in any player I have (4k, blu ray, DVD drive on a laptop, and an external DVD drive) I bought the season again (it was only $4) and that disk will load, but only play 5 mins into the first episode, then it skips and stutters and then goes back to the menu. The second episode on the disk plays fine, but I'm not sure how long it'll last. I tried two other copies from our local library and neither of them will play either. And no it's not the player since I have tried 4 different ways of playing it, resetting it won't help since it's not even remembering that I played the disk. Is there a manufacturing defect? Are they "wearing" out or something, (there isn't even a tiny scratch or fingerprint on it, it looks brand new, no hazing or weird coloring) like I said I've watched it at least twice and have never had any issues with it, and now testing 4 copies with only one partially playing I'm worried about trying to replace the disk again with another one. I was hoping the library copies would work so I could at least backup these two last episodes onto a DVDR since I've already bought this new once and used twice now! Not sure what to do since I assume you can't contact the manufacturer and get anywhere with that.

Does anyone else who has this have this problem? If you own it can you check that disk for me? Thanks!!

I checked my copy out and I hadn't watched it in years since I got the complete series on itunes and S1 disc 5 plays fine on my end, it all loads and plays just fine.

Thanks for checking! Not sure why I can't find a playable copy of this disk?! 4 out of 4 not working on any device is weird.

But on 4 different copies all doing the same thing on 4 different players?? All 4 of the other disks all play just fine, I haven't checked the rest of the series though, I'm only a couple disks into season two. I'm wondering if there is some manufacturing defect that shows up years later? Is that even possible? Probably just some crazy coincidence. But it's still so weird. I wanted to just get a good copy from the library to burn a backup of those two episodes (since I've bought it 3 times now I don't feel guilty about doing just two episodes). But I can't even do that since those copies are bad too.
