Glenn Gould Plays Bach (1979-1981) -- October 26th, 2022

Sony Music Japan will release Bruno Monsaingeon's three film series Glenn Gould Plays Bach: The Question of Instrument (1979), An Art of the Fugue (1980) and The Goldberg Variations (1981) on October 26th, 2022.

This is part of a wider campaign to mark the 90th anniversary of Glenn Gould's birth and the 40th anniversary of his death. Sony Music Japan will also be issuing a 26-disc (24xSACD, 2xCD) set of Gould's Bach recordings, where the CDs are apparently interviews with Gould and a talk about Bach in German. However, while the listing does claim that 12 of the discs are on Hybrid SACD for the first time (note the use of the term "Hybrid", thus discounting any single-layer SACDs or SHM-SACDs), there is no information yet on if any of the recordings have been remastered for this new box set. It will be released on December 21st, 2022 March 22nd, 2023 and may or may not be exclusive to Japan:
