Default Is there any difference between PLII and Neo6 movie modes?

When watching movies with 2.0 DTS audio my receiver defaults to Neo 6 and I usually change it to ProLogic II since Dolby is the decoder that would have been expected when most of these matrixed 2.0 soundtracks were made (even if not PLII specifically) but I do wonder if that's essentially a waste of time. My current understanding is that the music modes are different, with Neo6 giving extra options for spreading the center channel to the side speakers, but is there actually any difference in how the respective movie modes decode a 2.0 track on a 5.1 setup? Or any other difference in sound?

I've tried searching for info but all I can find are forum threads full of people saying which they use with no real explanation, or confidently saying things that are obviously wrong (like that DPL doesn't work on DTS or PCM, etc, haha.) Would be great if there are any experts lurking around here who actually know! Thanks either way!
